Rain, rain, go away!

Photo shoot's in June are cursed. Well, for me anyways. Every time I attempt to take my camera out, it is always a rain storm. The day before is usually beautiful and hot, but about an hour or so before the specified time, it begins to rain. Luckily this time it was just showers. We jumped in and out of the car to stay dry and managed to get amazing pictures.

Now, when I was asked to photograph this family, I was told it would be my most difficult shoot. I walked into it ready to prove them wrong and I loved the way the pictures turned out.

Busting out in giggles

Back a while ago, well a long while ago I took pictures of my sister-in-law for her website. She is one of the reasons I have been doing so well with photography. Whenever I have a question she is the first one I call. We had a lot of fun taking these photos.

Her website is: http://laurataylorphotography.ca/

Thirty-six hours

Can you believe it? My little sister is/has graduated High school... Do you know how old I feel? She has grown up to be an amazing and incredible woman. Last week I decided to drive the long and treacherous 6hr journey to Calgary for a total of 24hrs just so that I could be there to do my sisters hair and take her to get her make up done for grad. Her date better have appreciated that because she looked absolutely stunning. This is what came out of my sleepless 36hrs of no sleep.

Acrobats and new love

As I have been learning and growing... hopefully, as a photographer, I have tried to challenge myself at each session. I was reading a blog and they were talking about how much fun it is to make a client laugh. I thought, how on earth do you have time to think of a joke when you need to remember to check each setting on the camera and make sure you have the right angle. Well, my goal for this shoot was just that... make my clients laugh. Little did I know, my acrobat photography was just enough to get them laughing. You see, I started with a 50mm lens and had to do a lot of running around to get that perfect shot. Now I have a 24-70mm but my habit of movement has stuck with me and I end up standing on my head at least once to make sure I get a good shot.

I love when a client has ideas and likes to be creative with me. My husband was so sweet and said this was my best shoot yet. This couple was so in love and had a fun goofy side that it was easy to capture those moments.
